David Austen

David has been baking fresh bread and delicious cakes since taking a Saturday job at the age of 18 when he passed up an opportunity to study electrical engineering at De Montford University in preference for getting a job. 24 years later he is the proud owner and baker in the same bakery he joined as a teenager.

Passionate about baking David’s bakery makes and delivers a wide range of bread and cakes that follow the seasons and some of the latest trends too. He is renowned for his traditional farmhouse and bloomers and some specialties including German Rye, Soda bread, low GI and Spelt bread. His tarts, doughnuts, fresh cream cakes and eclairs are big firm favourites too!
